Before you proceed:

Please register in the journal’s site to be able to submit articles (articles can be submitted only electronically and through the journal’s site).

  • Submission Procedure: A step-by-step guide for submitting articles is available when logged in.
  • Authors’ Names and their Order: There should be an agreement on authors’ names and their arrangement before submission. Any addition, removal, or rearrangement of the names is possible just before the acceptance of the article and through the chief editor’s approval. For such changes to occur, the corresponding author should contact the chief editor and provide the following in his/her request:
    • The reason(s) for the change;
    • A written letter/email of consent including the approval of all authors about the addition, removal, or rearrangement of the names.
    • In special cases, the chief editor can agree on the request of addition, removal, or rearrangement of the names after the acceptance of the article. During the time of consideration, the publication of the article is suspended; however, the request will be rejected if the article has already been published online.
  • Required Information: In the submitted file, the followings should be included both in Persian and English: author’s/authors’ first name(s) and last name(s), institutional affiliation, rank, the name of corresponding author, and the name of the institute, city, country, telephone number, and E-mails.

The submitted article should be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections and sub-sections. (The abstract section is excluded).

The included figures and tables should be placed next to the relevant text in the manuscript rather than at the top or the bottom of that.

 ESTM publishes articles both in Persian and English.

Article’s Format

 Article’s Title

Since title plays an essential role in retrieval systems of information, authors should select a clear and brief title. Please avoid using abbreviation or formulas in the title.

Authors’ Names and Affiliation

Authors’ first names and last names should be clearly and correctly written down. The Corresponding author should check all names’ spellings. Authors’ affiliations should follow the names of the authors. Besides, authors’ addresses, e-mails and their countries should be mentioned as well.

The corresponding author should also provide an active e-mail contact and a phone number.

PhD students note that in case of having a thesis reader along their supervisor, the order of the names in the submitted article should be as follows:

  • Student’s name
  • Supervisor’s name (the corresponding author)
  • Reader’s name

Abstract

The article should be preceded by an abstract (250 words) followed by keywords (from 3 up to maximum7 words) typed in a separate line. The abstract should be informative, concise, and to the point. Avoid too short abstracts. The abstract should not contain references to other works, formulas, or details of the research. It should describe main results and research methods.

Extended Abstract

In addition to short English abstract, an extended abstract is also required. The extended abstract should clearly elaborate the subject and the results of the conducted research. The extended abstract can be of minimum 700 words up to maximum 1000 words. This abstract comes at the end of Persian articles. The extended abstract should include the following sections:

  1. a) Introduction;
  2. b) Materials and Methods;
  3. c) Results;
  4. d) Discussion and Conclusion.

Keywords

Every article should include at most 7 keywords, separated by commas. These keywords should categorize the topic and sub-topics of the article. Keywords should be arranged based on their significance to the article; that is, the most relevant ones should come first. Keywords should be translated into English as well.

Introduction

The introduction section should generally discuss the topic of the research. It should also provide a literature review of already conducted studies and their features. Besides, it should elaborate how the current research has been able to address the existent gap(s).

 Material and Methods
This section should provide sufficient details to allow the work to be reproduced. However, it should in detail elaborate on the new methods/techniques used. It should also refer briefly to previously deployed methods and describe the main changes done to them.

Results

Results of the study should be presented logically along with tables and figures (if required). However, writers should avoid frequent representation of similar data in various formats. Results should include proper points which do not contradict with each other. Furthermore, the past tense should be used while describing the results. Besides, the results should be elaborated without references to other sources.

Discussion

In discussion section, the relationship between the proposed hypotheses and the obtained result should be illustrated. Furthermore, it should discuss the status of the conducted study among the already conducted ones. It should be noted that ‘Discussion’ and ‘Results’ sections can be blended.

Conclusion

Conclusion section should not just repeat the abstract. It should illustrate the findings resulted from the proposed methods in the research as well.

Tables and Figures

Images should have clear outlines. For drawing diagrams, it is recommended to use the softwares which provide an output. Figures should have distinct numbers from the tables and should be mentioned in the order of their use. Every table and figure should have a title describing its content. The title of figures should follow the figures, while the title of tables should precede the tables.

Mathematical Formulas

Mathematical equivalences should be presented as editable texts rather than mere images.

Acknowledgements
Acknowledgements section is required only if is there a patron or financial sponsor for the research. The Acknowledgements section should come at the end of article preceding the Reference section. Therefore, it should not be included in any other parts of the research, even as a foot note.

References should be numbered and ordered at the end of article. The corresponding bracketed number (e.g. [1]) should be used in in-text citations. The journal’s citation style should be closely observed at time of submission due to the journal’s strict requirements on reference formatting.

Referencing in this journal follows APA style.
